Trigger Point Therapy
Pains (e.g. headaches) can be caused by knots (trigger points) in the neck, jaw, and upper shoulder girdle . Trigger point therapy is a technique of compressing the knot that provokes the pain in a specific region. This can be a little bit uncomfortable, but most clients refer to it as a ‘positive’ pain. For each pain there are different referral pain patterns and for effective pain relief it is necessary to treat those points three times per session. After one to six treatments trigger points can be released causing the referral pain to reduce significantly.
